When people hear the name Black Squad Productions, they may think of an advertising or production company. For me, it represents something much more personal.

It represents the journey I have taken over the past few years from studying visual communication and multimedia, to working on creative projects, understanding how brands communicate, spending years working directly with businesses, and eventually realizing that great creative work becomes far more powerful when it is backed by a strong marketing strategy.

That journey is what led me to build Black Squad Productions.

Who I Am

I’m Sabari Balan, a creative professional and the founder of Black Squad Productions.

My background is rooted in visual communication, multimedia, advertising, and content creation.

I have worked across different areas of the creative industry, including graphic design, video editing, visual storytelling, advertising content, social media content, and brand communication.

For me, creativity has never been only about making something look good.

I’ve always been interested in understanding why something works.

Why does one advertisement get attention while another gets ignored?

Why do some brands immediately feel premium while others struggle to communicate their value?

Why does certain content make people stop scrolling, while other content gets forgotten within seconds?

Those questions gradually pushed me beyond creative production and toward marketing.

What I Studied

My educational journey started with Visual Communication in Coimbatore, where I developed a foundation in visual storytelling, design, media, and communication.

I then continued developing my skills in multimedia, including areas such as graphic design, video editing, motion graphics, and visual production.

These skills gave me the ability to understand the creative side of advertising.

But I eventually realized that creating the advertisement is only one part of the equation.

Understanding marketing is equally important.

A great video cannot automatically make a business successful.

A great poster cannot fix poor positioning.

And spending money on advertisements without understanding the customer can quickly become expensive.

That realization changed the direction of my career.

Two Years of Practical Experience

For around two years, I have been actively working in the creative and advertising space, developing content and working with businesses on their visual communication.

During this period, I worked on different types of projects involving social media content, advertisements, photography, video production, editing, branding, and promotional campaigns.

I had the opportunity to work with businesses from different industries and understand how different brands approach their customers.

This experience taught me something that cannot always be learned inside a classroom:

Every business has a different problem.

One business may need better branding.

Another may need more leads.

Another may have good products but poor content.

Another may be spending money on advertising without a proper strategy.

And some businesses simply struggle to communicate why customers should choose them.

Working directly with businesses helped me understand these problems from the ground level.

From Creative Work to Marketing

My early experience was heavily focused on the creative side.

I was interested in cameras, editing, design, visual storytelling, advertisements, and content production.

But as I worked more closely with businesses, I started seeing the bigger picture.

A business doesn’t necessarily need more content.

It needs the right content for the right audience with the right objective.

That changed the way I looked at creative work.

Instead of asking:

“What should we create?”

I started asking:

“What does the business actually need?”

Does it need awareness?

Does it need leads?

Does it need better positioning?

Does it need to build trust?

Does it need more sales?

That shift from creative execution to marketing thinking became one of the most important parts of my journey.

Why I Joined Digital Scholar

To strengthen my understanding of marketing, I decided to formally study digital marketing.

I joined Digital Scholar in Chennai, one of the well-known digital marketing institutes in India.

My objective wasn’t simply to add another certificate to my profile.

I wanted to understand what happens behind the creative work.

I wanted to learn how businesses can use:

  • Digital marketing strategy
  • Search engine optimization
  • Performance marketing
  • Meta advertising
  • Google advertising
  • Lead generation
  • Social media marketing
  • Conversion strategies
  • Analytics and measurement

Studying digital marketing helped me connect the two sides of my experience.

Creative + Marketing.

I already understood how to create visual content.

Now I was learning how that content could fit into a larger marketing system.

Why This Matters to Black Squad Productions

This combination is the foundation of what I am building with Black Squad Productions.

I don’t want the company to be known simply as a creative production company.

Creative production is an important part of what we do, but the larger objective is marketing and business growth.

The idea is to combine strategy, branding, content, advertising, and performance marketing into one system.

For example, instead of simply creating a reel for a business, we can ask:

Who is the customer?

What problem are we solving?

What should the customer feel?

What message should the video communicate?

Where should the content be distributed?

Should it be organic content or an advertisement?

What happens after someone watches it?

How do we measure whether it worked?

These questions turn content from something a business simply posts into something that has a purpose.

What I Do Today

Today, my work sits at the intersection of marketing, creativity, and advertising.

I work on areas such as:

  • Marketing strategy
  • Performance marketing
  • Branding
  • Social media marketing
  • Content strategy
  • Video production
  • Graphic design
  • Advertising creatives
  • Social media content
  • Brand communication

As the founder of Black Squad Productions, I am involved in both the strategic and creative sides of projects.

My background in multimedia helps me understand the production side.

My experience working with businesses helps me understand the practical side.

And my digital marketing education is helping me build the strategy behind it.

Building Black Squad Productions

Black Squad Productions is the result of bringing all of these experiences together.

The company is being built around a simple idea:

Marketing should create business impact, not just content.

A brand can have beautiful visuals and still struggle to grow.

A business can run advertisements and still struggle to generate quality leads.

A company can post every day and still remain invisible.

The solution isn’t always “more content.”

Sometimes the solution is better positioning.

Sometimes it is better targeting.

Sometimes it is better creative.

Sometimes it is a better offer.

And sometimes it is the entire marketing system.

That is the kind of thinking I want to bring into Black Squad Productions.

From Coimbatore to Chennai and Beyond

My journey started in Coimbatore, where I studied and developed my foundation in visual communication and multimedia.

Today, I am building my career and business from Chennai while continuing to work with businesses and brands.

Both cities have given me different experiences and perspectives.

Coimbatore helped shape my creative foundation.

Chennai has given me exposure to a much larger and more competitive marketing environment.

My long-term vision, however, goes beyond these two cities.

I want Black Squad Productions to work with ambitious businesses across India and eventually with brands internationally.

What I Believe About Marketing

I believe marketing should connect three things:

Attention. Trust. Action.

First, a business needs to get noticed.

Then, it needs to build trust.

Finally, it needs to give people a reason to take action.

Creative content can help generate attention.

Branding can help create recognition and trust.

Performance marketing can help drive measurable action.

When these elements work together, marketing becomes much more powerful.

That is the approach I want to continue developing through Black Squad Productions.

The Journey Is Still Beginning

I don’t consider Black Squad Productions a finished company.

I’m still learning.

I’m still experimenting.

I’m still working with different businesses.

I’m still developing my understanding of marketing, advertising, technology, content, and business.

And I think that is one of the most exciting parts of building a company.

The goal isn’t to pretend that I know everything.

The goal is to keep learning, keep improving, and use that knowledge to build something valuable.

From studying visual communication in Coimbatore, to spending years working in creative production, to studying digital marketing at Digital Scholar in Chennai, every step has contributed to where I am today.

And that journey has led me to one clear direction:

Build Black Squad Productions into a marketing company that helps businesses become more visible, more memorable, and more successful.

This is my journey so far.

And this is only the beginning of Black Squad Productions.
